Finals of the Talebaat Badminton Tournament
On the occasion of the 99th Milad Mubarak of Aqa Moula TUS, keeping in view the fitness aspect, Talebaat Ul Kulliyat Ul Mumenaat had organised a Badminton Tournament for the Mumenaat of Bangalore. 14 women had participated in the tournament. After a training programme - conducted by Mr. Rajesh - lasting for about a month, league matches were played amongst the participants. The contestants were divided into two age groups - below 30 and above 30.
At the end of the league matches four contestants progressed to the semifinals which were played on Friday 9th April. In the semifinals Sakina Bahen Barodawala played against Fatema Bahen Barodawala & Fatema Bahen Morudwala played against Khadija Bahen Kagalwala. Sakina Bahen Barodawala and Khadija Bahen Morudwala emerged winners and contested against each other in the finals.
The finals held on 10th April was a closely contested match which lasted for about 45 mins. The match was taken to the third set after both contestants won one set each. The final set was won by Khadija Bahen Kagalwala. The final scores were 21-18, 21-23, 21-11.
In the above 30 age group Farida Bahen Tambawala was declared winner as she had won all the 5 matches played against the other contestants. The runner up position was awarded to Alefiyah Bahen Khumusi. She had won 4 matches out of 5 matches she played.
The finals were played in the presence of Bhabhi Saheba Tasneem Bahen Yamani, who had graced the occasion with her presence. She gave away the awards to the winners. Also, Skh Hussain Bhai Abbasi attended the award function and distributed trophies and certificates to the winners and participants.
May Allah grant a long and healthy life to our beloved Aqa Moula (TUS) till the day of Qayamat and give us many such oppurtunites of celebrating His Milad. AMEEN.
