In commemoration of the Centenary Celebration of His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS, Anjuman E Taiyabi, Bangalore organized a VIP function at the Gateway Hotel on 19th March 2011 (14th Rabi Ul Akhar 1432H).
The function began with Tilawat of Quran E Majeed by M Mustafa Skh Abde Mannan Bhai Shakir followed by Qaseeda recitation. Skh Zulfiqaar Fakhri honourable Secretary of the Anjuman E Taiyabi presented the welcome address thereafter.
Next Skh Khuzaima Bhai Yamani, Aamil Saheb of Bangalore and the president of Anjuman E Taiyabi addressed the Dignitaries and the gathering.
In his address he gave a synopsis of His Holiness’s illustrious life spanning a hundred years. He also mentioned about the Dawoodi Bohra Community and presented them as a peace loving, law abiding business community.
After the address the dignitaries were shown a video on the life of His Holiness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS.

6) Mr. Mohandas Pai – Director Infosys
7) Mr. Mohammed Ghouse Ashrafi– Chairman - State Haj Committee
The dignitaries addressed the gathering and wholeheartedly showered words of praise for His Holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS and his obedient followers.
The first to address the gathering was Shri C.K.Jaffer Sharieff. He recalled his decades long association with Syedna and said that when he had been to Mecca for Haj he chose to accept the hospitality of His Holiness over the services offered by the embassy of his home country.
Shri H.K.Patil who came in next appreciated the fact that he does not find any member of this committee applying for government service. On the other hand Syedna has nurtured the community members such that they are entrepreneurs, offering employment to thousands of people.
Shri Roshan Baig also offered his greetings on 100th birthday to Syedna and took this opportunity to convey to Syedna through the Aamil Saheb to construct a hospital in Bangalore on the lines of Saifee Hospital constructed in Mumbai. He was amazed at the commercialization of the noble medical profession and urged that Syedna should initiate a project of a hospital in Bangalore where patients are offered quality service at reasonable rates.
Karnataka is a blessed land among all the other lands - Mr. Shankar Bidari proudly announced. He was very thankful to the almighty that from the past 210 years, this piece of land has always been peaceful. This quality of the land has played a major role in the progress of all types of people settling here and in turn the progress of the state at large.
He was very much astonished by the leadership quality of Syedna and acknowledged the fact that it is a very difficult task to maintain unity and harmony among a million followers spread over five continents, but Syedna does it with diligence.
He also took this opportunity to convey to Syedna to shift his base from Mumbai to Bangalore to further increase the harmony and prosperity of this land.
The last person to address the gathering was Mr.Mohandas Pai. He told that the sign of a good citizen is that one looks after the neighbor and takes efforts for the upliftment of the fellow beings. This act is one of the primary acts preached by His Holiness and his followers are always at the help of their neighbors and fellow citizens. He also talked about the “Akshaya Patra” scheme undertaken by Infosys through which they provide meals to 12 lakh children statewide.
